Hair Bows 

I came to love hair bows when I started doing the sock bun in my hair. I thought it would be cute to put a bow underneath the bun so I went to Target. The selection was small and I looked everywhere for some. So, since I couldn't find any bows like I wanted I thought, why don't I make some myself?

    Oh, Denise! I love you so much. I really enjoyed watching this, you seemed to know what you were doing. About half way through I noticed that the song had the words bow in it, I got a kick out of that, but apparently my Mom heard it all along.

    My Mom says "What happened?! You have only lived in Utah since August and you have turned into a Molly Mormon?" haha.

    Could you explain the second way to make the bow more in-depth? I am having a hard time understand it. Thanks :)

      Yes of course!
      1. You're going to fold the material (to what you think is enough for the height of the bow) from the top and bottom. Then glue the top flap.
      2. Then you're going to cut the material (to as much you think is enough for the width). Then meet both ends and fold them over one another and glue the top fold shut.
      3. Then scrunch the center, add the center strap and hair clip! You can find that part in my video tutorial.

      If that was still confusing, please let me know! I'd be happy to make a video tutorial for it.

      Do you mean on the blue bow? How the edge of the material is just on the back of the bow? Then yes, I did. You could fold in the edge and then glue, but I leave it like that or it would ruin the shape of the bow a bit. The edge of the material doesn't run or shred. :)

    I love this! I am such a bow girl! I have 2 quick questions though. About what size fabric do you use to make the bows? And do you just use like the little fabric squares from JoAnn's or something?

      I just buy half a yard of material I really like at Joann, Hobby Lobby or other fabric stores! I don't get the fabric squares because I'm pretty picky about the patterns I get. I use 7 x 9 inches for the bows in the video version. Let me know if you need to know anything else! :)

      At the beginning of the video I use at least 7 x 9 inches of material. I like to pick out the patterns I really like and get half a yard of the material. Hope that helps! :)

    hi! So i was just wondering what kind of fabric you use...I know that's a weird question, i just don't want a saggy bow..is there like a specific isle you go to at joanns?

      No, I totally know what you mean! Not all fabric types work for these. I'm usually in the quilting isles and use cotton/polyester materials. I've even used tulle to make them and they turn our way cute! As long as the material is strudy and not to thick, it should work! Don't be afraid to experiement as well. :) Hope that helps!

      Yes! Of course! Sewing gives a longer ladsting benefit, but I have had no problems using hot glue. You might find that you prefer a sew version though! My video just shows a no-sew verion so more people have access to making their own bows! Thanks for stoping by! xoxo
